Man, what a run those Boilers had, eh? This was sure a fun team to watch. Unfortunately, they came up one game shy of the big prize. Hopefully, we will see Zack at the next level and hope he does well in the draft this spring. We have been working hard and dreaming of Week 19. We enjoyed Family Dinner and seeing all the kids. We enjoyed spending more time with family and friends and got outside to do more, despite the crazy fluctuations in the weather. We saw snow, sleet, rain, wind, fog, heck – even a 70-degree day! We wanted to play pickleball at the park, but the city never put the nets up. Instead, we went out to the Y, but it was soooo windy! Ann wound up hurting her hand while making a great, diving play…no; just kidding. She took a swing and missed…and pulled up lame. Damn, we’re old!! LOL! 😊 Here are a ton of random pictures from our recent adventures…
Maddy & Taylor came down to see us for Family Dinner. We also celebrated Maddy’s birthday. I can’t believe our baby is 28! Damn, we’re old! It was good to catch up with those two since we hardly talk to them, much less see them, because they’re always so busy. We did make plans to come up and see them after vacation, though. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they will make it down to the Pebble again this year. Hopefully next year they can make it. I know we’re sure ready to for some rest & relaxation…or as Ann calls it, Beach Therapy!!
Abby & Seth are doing good. Abby is thinking of picking up a side job at Wings & Rings again. Ann & I can certainly relate. I know we both worked a couple jobs when we were just starting out. We did whatever it took to get ahead, so I commend those two. They work hard but they also played hard as well. They came over to the house quite a bit when they weren’t busy making Seth’s new house a home. Tilly loves coming over to play with the dogs. Although four pups at the same time can get a little hectic, they’re awfully good overall. We enjoyed playing cards with a couple cocktails and usually ended with a fire and a stogie…and sometimes cards out there, which could be tricky with the lighting and the wind. It helped that we picked up a new Solo Stove diffuser. Although it deflects the smoke as well, it does quite well with diffusing the heat outward instead of up. Abby loves working for Sly Fox but is really getting tired of the drive. There has been talk of a change but no action as of yet… She is so excited to get back down to Treasure Island. She & Seth have already bought their tickets, so we’ll have to find a different dogsitter this year!
Here are random pictures from friends and family that were given to me during the month of March.
Luke & Samantha are growing up so fast. Their lives are changing so quickly these days that it’s sometimes hard to keep up with. Sam & Remy have become staples at the house, spending most nights each week. Remy fits right in with Delilah, though she is still very much a puppy…something D-Bug isn’t quite sure about some nights… Otherwise, they’re two peas in a pod. …Add Tilly into the mix and the three of them lose braincells. They entertain themselves for hours. Lola still keeps the youngins in line through her role of the alpha, but she can get so annoying… After some heavy thinking, lots of conversations, and some introspection – Luke has decided to put his fireman aspirations on-hold for now. He has talked about looking at joining a couple different types of unions, but nothing panned out. He has focused instead on building his business with Alex (SD Contracting, LLC), picking up odd jobs and working for Bryan. That keeps him pretty busy. He still makes time for our fireside chats on the back porch, which can get a little deep sometimes… He is doing great, finding his way through life.
Ann & I are learning how to enjoy life with adult children. It has been quite the adjustment. We encourage the kids to come hang out as much as possible. We still find time to spend with our friends and do the things we love. For Annie, that’s usually scrapbooking. For me, it’s obviously disc golf. Annie got our Mexico vacation book finished and it turned out really cool. I try to get out every day to play disc golf. Although the game continues to improve, the body doesn’t always follow suit! I was able to get out and play at some other local courses on the weekends while playing Columbus & Greensburg courses through the week. I’m up to a 61-straight week streak and hope I can continue somehow when we go down to the Pebble for Week 19! We have several social media pictures to share this month as well.
Next up is our Waybac segment which features pictures from our first digital camera, back in 2002 as well as others from that same era.
Next up is our video segment which features one new home movie from this month as well as a ton from around the internet.
And that does it for this month’s episode of the Scheu Family Blog. Thanks for keeping up with us this time out and we’ll catch up with you again next time. Until then, have a good one and stay safe out there. We miss ya, Mom.
Later, Scheu
